Donald C. Demers, 64, of 28 Oakdale Ave, died May 20, 2003 at Catholic Medical Center following a long illness. He was born in Manchester on August 6, 1938, the son of Charles Emile and Emerentienne Marie (Samson) Demers and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was a life member of the Canadian Club and the Workmans Club. He had worked for Hanover Hill Siding. He was a devoted husband, father, stepfather and grandfather. Family members include his wife of 18 years, Lorraine (Lemieux) Demers; a daughter, Lisa Demers of Goffstown; two stepdaughters, Bonnie Holt of Rochester and Kelley York of Manchester; two grandchildren; a sister, Rachel Gimopoulos of Manchester; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral services will take place on Friday morning at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel. After cremation, urn burial will take place in St. Augustin cemetery.
