Donald Everett Powers, 75, of East Dummerston VT passed away peacefully on September 26, 2018 at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care, Dartmouth-Hitchcock with his daughters by his side.

He was born on June 23, 1943 the 8th child of Leon and Gertrude (Johnson) Powers of Vernon Vermont.
On October 13, 1962, he married the love of his life, Kathleen Rose Boyd and had 4 daughters together. Sadly, their oldest daughter passed when she was 12 and his beloved Katie passed in 2008.

Donnie, as he was known by his family, served in the Army from 1960-1968. During which he served in Vietnam for 14 months. He received many awards, certificates and medals including National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, 2 Overseas Bars, Sharpshooter Badge Rifle M 14.

He leaves behind his remaining 3 daughters, Brenda & John Burnett of Hinsdale NH, Bobbi Powers of Turners Falls MA, Donna & Ken Drake of Hinsdale NH. 3 grandchildren, Brandon Morgan of East Dummerston VT, Dylan & Lexi Drake of Brattleboro VT, Skye Drake of Hinsdale NH. 2 Great Grandchildren Mayzie Dix and Kolten Drake of Brattleboro VT. 3 siblings, sister Phyllis & Ernie Hoerich of IL, brother Howard and Eleanor Powers of FL, brother David Powers and Marie Castine of MA.

Besides his wife and daughter, he is predeceased by 2 sisters Helen Chelsea and Beverly Grout and one brother Martin Powers.
A graveside service will be held at Tyler Sunset Cemetery in Vernon VT at 11AM on Oct 6, 2018 followed by a celebration of life at the home of his daughter Brenda Burnett.
