Donna P. Mahoney

Donna P. Mahoney, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, at the age of 78, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 5, 1945 to the late Matthew & Daisy (Dujmic) Puskaric, Donna lived a life filled with warmth, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved. 

Donna was born in McKeesport, PA and would later graduate from the Ladywood High School in Michigan, after which her career as a certified beautician began in Detroit. She later served at the FBI office in Detroit, an experience that introduced her to countless individuals, including eventually meeting her husband, Ted Mahoney, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage and three children who were the lights of her life. 

Donna was known for her excellent sense of humor and her self-effacing demeanor. Described as gentle and beautiful, she was a wonderful mother who deeply cared for her family. As a devoted homemaker, she cherished raising her children and nurturing her family. Her interests were diverse; she had a profound love for music, particularly doo-wop, and would often express her joy through dance. 

Among her many hobbies, Donna enjoyed playing bingo on Saturdays, where she was a fierce competitor. She also found solace in painting and photography whenever time allowed. Her family will forever treasure several paintings and photographs she left behind. Donna was particularly fond of the holidays, most notably her famous Halloween parties, which brought together family and friends for unforgettable celebrations. 

In her final days, Donna felt the immense love and support of her family and friends through letters, messages, and emails. These messages of care and love showed her the impact she had along her path and how deep that impact was on this World. She often expressed gratitude for the relationships she cherished and wanted everyone to know how lucky she felt to have been surrounded by such an abundance of love. 

Donna leaves behind her loving husband, Ted Mahoney; her daughter Colleen Mahoney-Baxter and her husband Eric; son Teddy Mahoney and his husband Javier; daughter Erin Mahoney and her wife Amy; as well as her brother, Dennis Puskaric and his wife Dianne, and sister Sandy Baran and her husband John. She is also survived by cousins, extended family, and many friends who will miss her dearly. 

Services for Donna will be held in the Spring of 2025 in Portsmouth, NH. 

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Jack Byrne Palliative Care Center, where Donna received excellent care and support from the team, including Dudley the support dog.
