Doris I. Beaudoin, 99, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center in Manchester.
Born on July 20, 1926, in Manchester, she was the beloved daughter of the late Donat and Rose Alma (Mailhot) Bourque. Doris grew up and spent most of her life in Bedford, NH, where she and her husband, the late Maurice A. Beaudoin, built a life together rooted in love, family, and community. Married for 71 wonderful years until Maurice’s passing in June 2019, Doris cherished the deep bond they shared.
Doris’ life was defined by the joy she found in family gatherings and the warmth of friendship. She had a lifelong love of gardening, creating beautiful spaces around her home in Bedford. Summers were often spent at the family’s cherished home on Rye Beach, where days were filled with laughter, games of dominoes, and evenings surrounded by children, grandchildren, and dear friends. Winters brought her and Maurice to the shores of Ponce Inlet, Florida, where they enjoyed peaceful walks on the beach and the simple pleasure of being together.
Doris is survived by her devoted daughters, Susan Wood and her husband Norman of Manchester, and Elaine Nelson and her husband Thomas Nelson Jr. of Burdett, NY. She leaves behind her adored grandchildren: Gregory Wood and his wife Marti, Matthew Wood and his wife Kate, Thomas Nelson III and his wife Sara, and Tyrrell Nelson and her husband Jeffrey Smith. Doris was also blessed with six great-grandchildren- Thomas Nelson IV, Dylan Nelson, Carly Wood, Nathan Wood, Bennett Wood and Avery Wood- who brought immense joy to her later years. She is also survived by her loving brother, Normand Bourque of Manchester, along with several nieces and nephews.
Doris will be remembered as a woman of quiet strength, grace, and kindness. Her greatest happiness was found in the love of her family, the beauty of her gardens, and the laughter shared with those around her. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory.
