Doris M. Belcher

Doris M. (McLaughlin) Belcher, 80, of 3 Old Sawmill Road, died November 3, 2007 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. She was born in Manchester on May, 16, 1927, the daughter of Walter and Nora (Dwyer) McLaughlin and had been a lifelong resident of the area. In Her Life: She was a 1944 graduate of Manchester High School Central and had been the former Miss Manchester that same year. Doris was a world traveler and visited nearly every country. She loved to square dance and line dance. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Church. Doris was the widow of Lt. Col. Theodore Belcher who died in 1997 and was predeceased by a son, Mark Belcher, who died in 1981. The Belcher family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Douglas Weckstein and the staff of the Community Hospice House for their compassion, and loving and thoughtful care, and guidance during a difficult time. Family members include three daughters, Susan Lang of Bedford, Kim Edwards of Canterbury and Tammy McGowan of Chichester; two sons, Daniel Belcher of Epping and David Belcher of Pembroke; her fiancé, Roger Paradis of Bedford; six grandchildren, Jessica Belcher, Spencer Lang, Moriah Lang, Philip Stamas, Shannon McGowan, Ryan McGowan and Heather Hill; two sisters, Ruth McQueeney of Manchester and Elizabeth Boyd of Ware, MA; a brother, Walter McLaughlin of Burlington, MA; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Bedford. Urn burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
