Doris LaValley

Doris LaValley, 99, passed away on July 1, 2023, in Sebring FL. She was born on December 22, 1923 in Altona, NY to the late Joseph and Julia (Fisher) Barnaby. She married Oscar Houle in 1942 and was married for 23 years. Two years later she remarried to Harold LaValley and moved to Vernon, VT. While in Vermont she worked at Molly Stark Furniture, Chremerics &Amp., and house cleaning. She moved to Florida in 1984 and worked as a seamstress sewing suits and curtains at the Marriot inside Disney World. After retiring she enjoyed cooking, planting flowers, playing cards, line dancing and spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Patsy Rutty and companion Sheldon Stoke.

Doris is survived and will be missed by her nine children: Robert Houle of Westfield MA, Sandra Thompson of Old Saybrook CT, Richard Houle of Sebring FL, David Houle of Davenport FL, Oscar Houle of Alabama, John Houle of Sebring FL, Tom Houle of Brattleboro VT, Patrick Houle and wife Sandra of Vermont, and Donald Houle and his wife Caroline of Brattleboro VT. She also leaves behind 29 grandchildren and numerous Great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Doris will be held on Wednesday, July 12^th from 3 to 6 pm at Ker Phaneuf Funeral Home, 57 High Street, Brattleboro, VT. A graveside committal will take place at 11am on Thursday, July 13^th at 11am at St. Michaels Cemetery in Brattleboro. Ker Phaneuf Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
