Doris L. Plourde

Doris L. Plourde, 90, of Manchester NH, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 7^th, 2022 at the Hanover Hill Nursing Home in Manchester, NH. She was born on June 9^th, 1932, to the late Gideon & Anne (Vallee) Rouleau, and would go on to marry her husband Roland Plourde, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Manchester, Doris was a lifelong resident of Manchester where she was always surrounded by friends and family. She was the youngest of nine children and would become mother to 4 children and grandmother to 4 grandchildren, all of whom were the lights of her life. Doris enjoyed a long and fulfilling life raising and supporting her family with Roland at her side.

 Those who knew Doris will remember a kind and generous caretaker and friend to many. She had a big heart and was always giving to others in need as she volunteered her time at the Elliot Hospital for over 30 years. She knitted countless blankets, booties, mittens, and hats, of which she gifted to many children at the Elliot as well as anyone else who would take them. Anyone close to Doris assuredly was gifted a knitted good or a dried flower arrangement at some point in their life. Doris also loved the holidays, especially Thanksgiving & Christmas, where she could be surrounded by her family whom she loved so much. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Doris is predeceased by her husband Roland Plourde; daughter Phyllis (Plourde) Byrnes; brothers Louis, Fernand, Bertrand, Donald & Rosaire Rouleau; and sisters Simone, Claire & Lucienne Rouleau.

Doris is survived by her son Kenneth Plourde; son Norman Plourde; son David Plourde and his wife Carol; grandchildren Rob Byrnes, Scott Plourde, Jennifer Plourde and Cody Plourde; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Calling hours for Doris will be held on Wednesday, October 12 from 8 AM – 9:30 AM at 243 Hanover St. Manchester, NH, with a Funeral Mass to follow at the St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Manchester, NH. She will be laid to rest immediately afterwards at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester, NH.
