SOUTH WINDSOR, CT.  Doris S. (Sullivan) Taggart, 87, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2005 at the Hartford Hospital in South Windsor, CT. She was the wife of the late Orville Newell.

Doris was born on August 3, 1917 in Lisbon, NH, the daughter of William and Angie (Miller) Sullivan.

Doris had been a licensed hairdresser, having graduated from Margarets School of Beauty in Manchester, NH in 1943. She later had her own beauty shop in her home before moving to South Windsor in 1957 where she resided for 48 years. She had been employed by the Pratt & Whitney division of U.T.C. in East Hartford during World War II from 1943 to 1945, and later from 1957 until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the Eastern Star of South Windsor and of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Italian American Club of East Hartford. She enjoyed bowling and golf and was an avid card player.

Surviving family members include her very loving family, Carol Lee Griffin and her husband, Patrick, of East Hartford, CT; Beatrice Hunt of Franconia, NH, Candy Hammond and her husband, Steven, and their children Alexis and Brandon, all of East Hartford, CT, and her loving companion of many years, Frank Treybal of South Windsor, CT, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Two brothers, Roger Hall and Richard Sullivan predeceased Doris.

SERVICES  Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at the Pillsbury Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Maple Street Cemetery in Bethlehem, NH.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the V.N.A. Health Care Hospice, 103 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105-1233.
