Dorothy B. Cornell

Dorothy Belle (Davisson) Cornell, of New Castle, Delaware, went to her heavenly home on January 15, 2019.

Mrs. Cornell was born in Wallace, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Hobert Davisson and Ona (Stiers) Davisson. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Mrs. Cornell, a devout Christian, was a former member of the McIntyre Baptist Church of Clarksburg, West Virginia, and First Baptist Church of New Castle, Delaware. Dorothy loved to sing specials, sing in the church choir, and play the piano and organ. Additionally, she taught her precious Sunday School children for over two decades. She also visited shut-ins and participated in many evangelical efforts. Dorothy was a missionary at heart.

She is survived by her two sons, retired pastor, Dr. Larry Cornell and wife Judy of Texas and retired LT Colonel Bernard L. Cornell and wife Gloria of New Hampshire; 7 grandchildren, Tammy, Larry, Christy, David, Bernie, Laurie, and Deborah; 11 great grandchildren, Colbie, Jewell, Jaden, Cameron, Ellana, Hailey, Layla, Hunter, Hayden, Cole, Cambria; and sister, Betty Jo Davisson of West Virginia. Dorothy was predeceased by her caring husband, Bernard H. Cornell and three sisters, Lavon Hammond, Pearl Davisson, and Vieva Locke.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 19 at 10:00A.M. in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, NH followed by a Committal Service at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Brown Ave., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Dorothy's memory to MANNA Worldwide, 4255 W Risinger Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76123, a gospel humanitarian ministry to children.
