DOROTHY S, DEMING
LISBON, NH -- Dorothy S. Deming passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Lafayette Center, Genesis Nursing Home in Franconia, New Hampshire.
Dorothy was born on April 10, 1932 in Bath, NH to Wesley A. Silver and Alma (Bryant) Silver. A short time after her family moved to Lisbon, where she grew up and married the love of her life, Maurice A. Deming Sr.
Dorothy met Maurice when he drove truck for her brother, Clifford's bread route. They dated and were married on June 29, 1952. Maurice and Dorothy made their home in Lisbon and started a family of three boys and two girls.
Dorothy enjoyed raising her family. When her children were young, she would babysit other children in the town. She got her driver's license when her children were older. She loved going to ball games the boys played in.
When the children were grown, she worked cleaning private homes and area motels. When she retired, she enjoyed their grandchildren as they came along. Maurice and Dorothy did a little traveling to see relatives.
Dorothy's hobbies included sewing, knitting, putting together photo albums of family members for her children, brothers and sisters and listening to music. She loved collecting teddy bears and dolls, and having yard sales on her porch.
Dorothy is survived by her children Maurice A. Deming Jr and wife Carol of Whitefield, NH, David C. Deming and wife Barbara of Lisbon, NH, Steven R, Deming of Lisbon, NH, Linda A. Deming of Lisbon, NH, Kathy (Deming) Mayo of Lisbon, NH; grandchildren Carly (Deming) Holly, Michael Deming, David Deming II, Richard Deming, Taylor Deming, Kristina (Mayo) Blodgett, and Hope Mayo; great-grandchildren Lexi Deming, Karter Deming, Preston Deming, Carter Blodgett, Thomas Deming; and brother-in-law Carl John Frank; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dorothy is predeceased by her husband of 64 years Maurice A. Deming Sr., her parents Wesley A. Silver and Alma (Bryant) Silver, brothers and sisters, Clifford E. Silver, Wendell "Ben" Silver, Irvena (Silver) Dodge, Virgil B. Silver, Geraldine (Silver) Vickers, Eleanor (Silver) Blake; nieces and nephew, Priscilla (Silver) Hunt, Barbara Lee (Silver) Casey, Debbie (Silver) Flesher, and Ronald Dodge.
SERVICES â A Memorial Service will be held at the Lisbon-Landaff Shared Ministry White Church on July 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lyn Winter officiating. Refreshments will be offered after the service, and all are encouraged to stay to help us celebrate Dorothy's life.
