DOROTHY E. GRENIER Dorothy E. (Brent) Grenier, 85, of Manchester, NH, died Monday, August 25, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, in Manchester. Born on July 9, 1923, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Evelyn (Grover) Brent. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester. Mrs. Grenier was a shoe sticher and was employed for many years at various shoe manufacturing companies throughout the city. She was a longtime member of Prime Time and received many awards including being named co-volunteer of the year. Mrs. Grenier enjoyed knitting, painting and quilting. Years ago, she liked cake decorating and owned her own cake decorating business. Members of her family include; 2 sons, Leo G. Grenier, of York, PA; Tom G. Grenier, of Index, WA; 1 daughter, Susan D. Hogan, of Newbury, NH; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Leopold Grenier, who died in 1991. Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 27 from 4 – 8 P.M. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Avenue, in Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 10 A.M. at Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelley Street, in Manchester. Committal prayers and burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Manchester. It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to VNA Hospice, 33 South Commercial Street, Suite 401, Manchester, NH 03104, in memory of Mrs. Grenier.
