Dorothy Patricia (Coyne) Nelson of Chichester, N.H. died peacefully on May 29, 2020 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, N.H. following a brief illness. She was born in Boston, MA, the daughter of Festus Coyne and Catherine (Kane) Coyne.

She was predeceased by husbands, John O'Brien (1951-1962) and Eugene Nelson (1969-1997), and by 8 brothers; Joseph, James, Frederick, Arthur, Thomas, John, Michael, and William Coyne and her 4 sisters, Margaret McGahan, Mary Coyne, Kathleen Kelly, and Rita Coyne.

Dorothy graduated from St. Augustine's High School in South Boston, MA and later furthered her education by attending night school for secretarial skills. She was employed as a secretary at White Fuel for many years and was later a real estate agent at Century 21.

She attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsfield, NH where she was a member of the Women's Club. She enjoyed baking for church events and for families in the church community. She loved cooking, gardening, and trying out new recipes. She bowled in a league on Thursdays and made many wonderful friends with whom she loved going out to lunch with.

Dorothy is survived by her only daughter, Eileen Marden and husband David, 2 grandchildren, David Marden and wife Jacquelyn and Christine Wheeler, as well as 5 great grandchildlren, Ryan Marden, Olivia Wheeler, Mia Wheeler, Lucy Marden, and Sofia Wheeler, all of Manchester NH.

Services will be held privately for immediate family members on June 8th at Phaneuf Funeral home with burial to follow immediately in Pittsfield, NH.
