Manchester - Violette E (Veilleux) Gardner, 91, died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.
A life-long resident of Manchester, she was born in the city March 8, 1927 to Simeon & Georgianna (Grondin) Veilleux and educated in local schools. She was a long-time parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. Violette was also a member of Les Dames de St Anne.
For most of her life she was a homemaker, raising 6 children. She worked at Mighty Mack Manufacturing as an inspector and also was a nurses aide at Notre Dame Hospital (CMC).
She enjoyed walking, playing games, bowling, sewing, dancing, making puzzles, going to the lake with family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by 2 sons, Emile (Pamela) Gardner of Goffstown, Maurice of Manchester, and 4 daughters, Lorraine (Hazen) Loftus of Manchester, Priscille (Ken) Edwards of Manchester, Rachel (Don) Young of Bow and Pauline Johnson of Manchester. She had 18 wonderful Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild with one more due on Christmas eve, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased in 2009 by her loving husband Paul of 63 years as well as all her siblings, 7 sisters, Cecile Lamy, Rose Lamy, Milly Pare, Annette Fournier, Eva Dionne, Alice Francoeur and Doris Moreau; 3 brothers, Albert, Maurice, and Herve Veilleux a beloved son-in-law Ronald Johnson; 2 Granchildren; and 1 Great Grandchild, Brendan Wilsie.
Services: Calling Hours will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Ave., Manchester, NH on Monday, December 17th from 5 to 8PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Tuesday, December 18th at Sacred Heart Church, 265 S. Main St., Manchester, NH. Committal prayers to follow in the Mausoleum of Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
