E. Gordon Pullar

E. Gordon Pullar, 79, of Bedford, NH died May 6, 2009 at the Ridgewood Center in Bedford, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on March 13, 1930 in Hartford, Connecticut, the son of the late Emmett and Alyce (Ray) Pullar. He was raised and educated in Hartford, attending Deerfield Academy. He graduated from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Pullar worked as a sales manager for International Paper for many years before retiring in 1995. Gordon was a member of the Amherst Lions Club. He enjoyed playing golf, camping and traveling. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Rose (Choquette) Pullar of Bedford; 3 sons, Thomas Pullar of South Berwick, ME, Timothy Pullar of Longwood, Florida and Charles Pullar of Durham, NH; 2 daughters, Alyce (Pullar) Reilly of Mont Vernon, NH and Anne Pullar of Manchester; 2 step daughters, Deborah Payne of Springfield, MA and Leslie VanSickler of Weare, NH; 2 step sons, Michael Grady of Wilbraham, MA and Lee Grady of Manchester, NH; 7 grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife of 33 years, Martha (Stewart) Pullar who died on August 8, 1988. Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Friday from 6-8PM. His Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst, NH.
