Edelmira Fuentes

Edelmira Fuentes, 88, of 1448 Elm Street, died February 12, 2009 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was born in El Savador on January 8, 1921, the daughter of Miguel and Elosia (Bonilla) Palacios and had been a Manchester area resident for over thirty years. She was an active member of the First Hispanic Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was the widow of Amilcar Fuentes who died in 1975. Family members include four sons, Rene Bonilla Fuentes of Manchester, Amilcar Fuentes of CA, Hugo Fuentes of Manchester and Carlos Fuentes of Nashua; five daughters, Abigail Vilcapoma of Worcester, Nuvia Montes of Manchester, Isabel Bran of FL; Carmen Otero and Sonia Hurbina both of Manchester; 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Cremtorium, 243 Hanover Street on Friday from 3 PM until 9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM in the First Hispanic Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
