Edmond L. "Eddie" Allard, 82, of 13 West Pelican Bend Drive, Marco Island, FL, died at Naples Hospital on January 8, 2000. He was born in Manchester on August 21, 1917, the son of Arthur and Zarilla Allard and had been a 55 year resident of Manchester before moving to Marco Island, FL 27 years ago. He was educated in the Manchester school system and attended MIT in Boston where he studied advanced engineering. He was the cofounder and former owner of Granite State Machine Company. He was a Life Member and past Chairman of the Manchester Airport Authority. He served on the Board of Directors of the International Paperbox Company in Nashua and United Industries in Maryland. He was a member of the Manchester Country Club and the Marco Island Country Club. He was a private licensed pilot and a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He was a parishioner of San Marco Catholic Church in Marco Island, FL. Family members include his wife of 62 years, Florence (Houde) Allard of Marco Island, FL; three sons, Gerald Allard and Maurice Allard, both of Marco Island, FL and Ronald Allard of Manchester; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Claudette) Gottsegen of Bermuda; twelve grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Allard of Naples, FL and several nephews and nieces. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 in St. Jean the Baptist Church. Encryptment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Child Health Services, 1245 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03101 or to the New Horizons Soup Kitchen, 199 Manchester St., Manchester, NH 03103. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium is in charge of arrangements.
