Edna T. Bartlett, 98, of Boscawen, NH, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, following a period of declining health. Born and raised in Salisbury, Edna was the daughter of Charlie Taylor and Louise (Colby) Taylor. She was a beloved wife to Lewis A. Bartlett, who predeceased her in 2013.
Edna graduated from Franklin High School Class of 1943 and spent most of her life as a devoted homemaker, raising her family with love and care. She was an 80 year patron of the Grange winning several first prize sewing awards. She was a woman of many talents and passions, finding joy in a variety of creative outlets. An avid crafter, Edna spent countless hours quilting, knitting, crocheting, with countless proud gifts to family and friends. She loved gardening, cooking, canning and baking her famous rolls. She was a dedicated bird watcher, always taking time to appreciate the beauty of nature. Even into her 80s, Edna found thrill in snowmobiling, a pastime she enjoyed immensely over the years with her husband, family and friends.
Edna was predeceased by her son Richard J. Ballam Jr. and her sister Eleanor Cornwell. She is survived by her son Brian Ballam, daughter Lorna Ballam, granddaughters Tracy Colburn and Mary Jo Costello, great-grandchildren Grace and Noah Boisvert, and her cherished cat, Cali, who brought her great comfort in her later years.
Edna will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and devotion will continue to inspire those who loved her.
A private service for family will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, where Edna will be laid to rest alongside her husband. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Granite VNA (www.granitevna.org) or the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) in Edna’s memory.
