Edna Douglas, 94, a lifelong resident of West Dummerston, VT passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Valley Cares in Townshend with her caregivers and her son, Ed by her side. She was born on October 19, 1918, the daughter of the late Isaiah and Annie (Edgerly) Boyington.
Just prior to its closing, Edna retired from American Optical in Brattleboro after many years of service. She enjoyed softball games at Living Memorial Park, trips to Maine, being able to drive the car for her sisters, dancing, big band music, and helping to raise her grandchildren.
She is predeceased by a brother, Lowell Boyington; two sisters, Bernice F. Anderson and Ethel "Hillie" Genero; and a nephew, David Genero.
Edna is survived by her loving son, Edward W. Douglas and his wife Joan of Brattleboro; a granddaughter, Leah A. Douglas and her partner Steven Stauffer of W. Dummerston; a grandson, Zachary E. I. Douglas of Brattleboro; and two great grandchildren, Sophia and Benjamin Stauffer.
All services will be private. The Ker-Westerlund Funeral Home, 57 High Street, Brattleboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
