Edna A. Schilke

Edna A. (Nelson) Schilke, 86, formerly of 100 West Clark Street, died July 5, 2006 at Maple Leaf Health Care Center. She was born in the Bronx, NY on November 9, 1919, the daughter of the late Anton and Augusta Nelson and had been a Rhode Island resident for many years before moving to NH 25 years ago. She had worked in the banking industry in RI and NH and had also been a personal secretary for Warner’s Manufacturing Company. She was a member of the Carolyn Rebekah Lodge and also belonged to the Hope Chapter of the Easter Star in RI. She was the widow of Reinhold Schilke who died in 1981. In Her Life: Family members include her son, Frank Minakin, Sr. and his wife Judy of Auburn; three grandchildren, Frank Minakin, Jr., Gary Minakin and Christine Minakin; and three great granddaughters, Alyssa, Kaitlyn and Casey Minakin; a brother, Dr. Arthur Nelson of RI; a sister, Dorothy Brophy of NE; and several nieces and cousins. A graveside memorial service will be scheduled at a later date in River Bend Cemetery, Westerly, RI. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium is in charge of arrangements.
