EDWARD J. FILLION
LITTLETON, NH Edward J. Fillion, 83, of Farr Hill Road, passed away on January 5, 2005, at Littleton Regional Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.
A native of Littleton, Ed was born a son to Cyrille and Antoinette (LeHoux) Fillion on January 24, 1920. He attended Littleton schools.
Ed married Bertha M. Pepin of St. Johnsbury, Vermont on June 10, 1942. He was stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. Upon returning to Littleton, he worked as a plumber for Littleton Hardware and in 1961, Ed started his own plumbing business which he operated until he retired.
Ed was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan. He enjoyed many recreational sports, especially golf in his younger years and the Senior Softball league in his later years. For almost two decades he walked the entire length of Farr Hill at least once a day, enjoying the company of the many friends he made along his way. Ed was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
In addition to his loving wife of 62 years, he leaves four sons; James, John and Peter of Littleton, and Paul of Eagle, Colorado; two brothers, Francis and Robert of Littleton; one sister, Alice McFarland of Iowa; ten adoring grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. His brother, Roger, predeceased him.
SERVICES The family will receive friends at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 101 Union Street, Littleton on Sunday, January 9, 2005 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday morning, January 10th at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Joseph Klatka as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Rose Cemetery with Military Rites being presented by the VFW Howard Shawney Post #816 of Littleton.
