Mr. Edward F. Mersereau of Danville, NH died Wednesday February 9, 2011 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester NH after a period of declining health, with his wife and children at his side.

He was born on November 10, 1932 in Arlington MA, the son of the late Thomas and Mary Jane (Bussey) Mersereau.

From 1950 to 1972, he proudly served in the US Military seeing active duty in Korea. He continued working in the defense industry after retiring from 20 years’ service in the Air Force. He and his wife Dulcie retired to Daytona Beach FL., where they lived for 15 years, recently moving back to NH to be with family.

Ed loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching television, and playing cards with friends. Later in life Ed enjoyed the sports and activities his grandchildren are involved in. He was a lifelong Red Sox Fan, from his earliest days of seeing his favorite player Ted Williams in Fenway Park, to seeing the Red Sox Win 2 World Series Championships.

Members of his family include his wife, Dulcie (Melendy) Mersereau of Danville, NH; 2 daughters, Debra (Mersereau) DeDeus of Richmond, VA and Cynthia (Mersereau) Scalzo and her husband Jeff Scalzo of Danville, NH; 1 son, Thomas Mersereau and his wife Michelle Mersereau of Manchester, NH, 7 grandchildren; Lana and Joseph DeDeus, Jamie and Danny Scalzo, and Jonathan, Amanda, and Aaron Mersereau, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Raymond Mersereau and Dorothy Carson.

A memorial service will be held at the NH Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Boscawen NH with full military honors. Donations in Edward’s name may be made to the caring staff in the Cardiac Medical Unit at Catholic Medical Center, 100 Mcgregor Street, Manchester, NH 03102.
