Edward A. Stevener Bedford, NH. Age 83, of Bedford, New Hampshire and also Schenectady, New York, died on September 30th at home following a long illness, with his wife and family at his side. He was born on September 26, 1922 in Utica, New York, the son of Edward J. and Alice (Lubey) Stevener. He attended Utica Free Academy and the draftsman apprentice course for the American Locomotive Company (ALC) in Schenectady. Following a 28 year career with ALCO, he worked for the General Electric Co., retiring after 17 years as a program manager in 1982. He and Mary moved to New Hampshire to be closer to their children and grandchildren, whom he adored. Ed loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was a veteran of WWII, having served with C Company, 405th Regiment, and 102nd Division, of the 9th Army. He loved going on picnics with family and friends and playing horseshoes. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to the New York Yankees, and he had also enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. Ed was also a 10 year member of the Bedford Senior Citizens. He leaves his wife of 61 years, Mary (DeAngelus), sons Colonel (USAF, Ret.) David Stevener of Bedford, NH. Dr. Michael Stevener of Candia, NH., daughters Elizabeth (Boo) Zotto of Bedford, NH. and Cindy Walsh of Springdale, Arkansas. 6 grandchildren also survive him.
