Edward J. Viens, 62, of 19 Heritage Drive, Allenstown, died November 5, 2001, at the Elliot Hospital. He was born in Concord, NH on July 24, 1938, the son of the late Alfred and Eva (Cantara) Viens and lived most of his life in Hooksett, moving to Allenstown eight years ago. Edward was a guard with the NH State Prison until his illness and previously worked 20 years with PSNH. Mr. Viens was a US Coast Guard Veteran and belonged to the American Legion Post 28 and was a member of NRA. Family members include a son Richard Viens of Almeda, California, three daughters Christine Lake of Bedford, NH, Kathleen Viens of Allenstown and Sandie Viens of Manchester, seven grandchildren, a brother Rudolph Viens of Chichester, his former wife of 25 years Carole (Zielinski) Viens of Candia, several nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue, Tuesday evening from 6 to 9. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Edmond Church on Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. Burial will follow in St. John Baptist Cemetery, Allenstown.
