Edward R. White

Edward "Ed" R. White, 76, of Port Richey, Florida died peacefully with his wife, Sharon by his side on September 14, 2011 at HPH Hospice in New Port Richey, Florida.

Ed was born on May 20, 1935 in Leominster, MA the son of the late Andrew and Ida (Desjardins) White.

He was a US Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. He and his wife spent over 25 years in Woodstock, VT where they raised their family. They later moved to Claremont, NH residing there for 7 years until retiring to Port Richey, FL in 2005.

Ed spent 21 years with P&C Foods of White River Junction, VT where he was a produce supervisor. He later managed "Ascutney Neighbors" also known as Exit 8 Mobile for Rice Oil Company for 7 years where he and his wife enjoyed working together and socializing with the local patrons.

He took great pride in his property and had a flourishing vegetable garden where he was always eager to share the fruits of his labor. He was a sports lover, avid reader and enjoyed following the stock market. He will be remembered as a fun and generous man who was quick to help those in need. A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend, Ed was deeply loved and respected by his family and will be sorely missed by them and the many other lives he touched.

Family members include; his loving wife, Sharon F. (Arnold) White; one son, Andrew A. White, his wife, Melissa, and their daughter, Miranda of Lebanon, NH; three daughters, Jennifer J. Monroe, her husband, Rodney "Chico" and their children, Jenson E., Leah J. and Haven F. of Manchester, NH Rebecca R. McDonnell, her husband, Andrew and their children, Katelyn R. and Hannah E. of Manchester, NH and Monica M. Brown, her husband, Jeff and their children, Jordan J. Harrington, Lucas J. and Camryn G. Brown of Manchester, NH; two sisters, Doris M. Warren of Dayton, Ohio and SR. Norma White, Religious of Christian Education (RCE), of Wellesley Hills, MA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ed was predeceased by two brothers, Andrew J. and Richard A. White as well as a sister, Mary F. Lowe.

Children from a previous marraige are Karen Cormier of Bedford, NH, Patrick White of Savannah, GA, Kathleen Duchesneau of Leominster, MA and Michael White of Leominster, MA. Grandchildren are Anthony Cormier of Stratham, NH, Melinda Cormier of Manchester, NH and Marina Duchesneau of Leominster, MA.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 24th from 11:00 am -12:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, in Manchester, NH. A reception will follow.
