Eileen Marden

Eileen was born in Boston, MA on January 7, 1956, the daughter of Dorothy (Coyne) Nelson and John (Jackie) O’Brien.  From that day forward, she brought joy to all who knew her.  Eileen later pursued a fulfilling career in teaching, and she retired with the Derry School District, where her kindness and dedication shone brightly.

In 1975, Eileen tied the knot with her husband, David Marden. Together, they embarked on a 48-year journey of love and laughter.

Eileen was a fantastic mom to her children, David Marden Jr. and Christine Wheeler, offering them endless love and sage advice. She cheered on their successes, laughed at their jokes, and provided unwavering support through thick and thin.

As a grandmother, Eileen was the ultimate fun-maker for her grandkids, Ryan, Olivia, Mia, Lucy, and Sofia.   Whether it was endless games of Uno at Lake Winnisquam, Saran wrap balls at holidays, or making the best spaghetti around, she was so proud of them and they brought her so much happiness. 

Eileen had an array of friends and family who meant the world to her. From morning chats with friends, weekly craft committee, cousin meetups, or supper club, Eileen always made time for everyone who was close to her and was known for her bright smile and sparkling eyes. 

Eileen Marden is survived by her loving husband, David Marden Sr., her son, David Marden Jr. and wife Jackie, her daughter Christine Wheeler, her adoring grandchildren, Ryan and Lucy Marden, Olivia, Mia, and Sofia Wheeler, and a host of extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, September 7, at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH from 4-7 PM.  A memorial service will be held the next day, Friday, at 10:00 AM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes.
