A lifelong resident of Manchester, Elaine Ntapalis died peacefully on January 9, 2022, after a tough battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Elaine was a daughter of the late Germaine and Lillian (Cote) Prince. She attended St. Anthony schools, where she graduated from high school in 1956. She enjoyed secretarial classes and put her education to work for her at the VA Medical Center in Manchester part-time while her children were in school then full-time for many years. After her retirement from the VA, she worked part-time in various temporary and volunteer positions at Elliot Hospital.
Elaine loved spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, crafting, playing Canasta with her friends, going out and traveling with her classmates from St. Anthony’s and participating in church activities. During her retirement, Elaine enjoyed traveling.
Elaine is survived by her loving children, Denise Schwendimann and her husband, John; Susan Royce and her husband, Donald; Jeanne Wurtele and her husband, Richard; Janice Johnston and her husband, James; Robert Gaudreault and his wife, Pam (Dabrowski); and Paul Gaudreault and his wife, Ariane; her step-son, Harry Ntapalis and his wife, Suzanne; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Prince and his wife, Connie; Robert Prince and his wife, Muriel; her sister, Denise Czaja and her husband, Steve; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her siblings, Raymond Prince, Pauline Tsivoulis, and Richard Prince.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 19th at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 1168 Bridge Street, Manchester. A calling hour will be held in the church from 10AM-11AM with a funeral mass at 11AM. She will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Elaine’s family asks that guests wear masks during the services.
In lieu of flowers, Elaine’s family request that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org
