LITTLETON, NH Eleanor May (Holmes) Barnett, 77, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Cambridge Hospital, Cambridge, MA.
Eleanor was the daughter of the late Raymond Sherman and Althea Mable (Stillings) Holmes in Lancaster, NH on July 30, 1932. She moved from Miles Pond, VT prior to living in Littleton for 52 years where she was a Chef for 35 years and worked for the Connors Shoe Factory for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1987. Eleanor was a former member of the Eagles and also enjoyed going to the casino and to bingo. She was passionate about spending time with her friends and family.
She is predeceased by her sisters; Raylene Lamere, Helen Blodgett and Beverly McClean and brother Perley Holmes.
She is survived by her daughter Betty Holmes of Littleton, sisters; Jean Olcott of East St. Johnsbury, VT, Jennie Sanderson of Orange, MA and Carole Ann Lyman of Erving, MA, brothers; Sherman Holmes of Littleton, Lyman Holmes of Sanbornville, NH and Jed Holmes of Littleton as well as a host of extended family and friends.
SERVICES A graveside service will be held at 11am Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Cushman Cemetery in Dalton with Rev. Lyn O. Winter officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of their choice. .
