Eleanore (Ellie) Hatch Haley Mustone, 100, of Manchester, NH, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
She was born on June 4, 1924, in Scituate, MA to Percy Hatch and Vivian (Yeaton) Hatch-Burns. Ellie leaves her daughter Marjorie (Marj) Haley Kiley of Auburn, NH; grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband, Thomas Quilty of Bellingham, MA; Jonathan and his wife Jennifer Kiley of Temple, NH; and Julianne Kiley of Hooksett, NH; and eight great grandchildren, Caleb Kiley, James Vancamp, Ayden Kiley, Kaylin Kiley, Evan Kiley, Ashton Kiley, Amber Talbot and Eleanor (Ellie) Kiley. She was preceded by her parents; first husband, Francis J. Haley; second husband, Louis Mustone; as well as all her siblings: Walter Hatch, Marian Cutter, Richard Hatch, George Hatch, John Hatch, Virginia LeClair, Robert Hatch, Wilbur Burns, son in law, Richard A. Kiley and granddaughter, Jill Ellen Kiley.
Ellie settled in Framingham, MA where she raised her daughter and lived for 60 years before moving to Auburn, NH to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Over the years she worked for General Electric, Chrysler and Sams Club. At one time she was the “Queen Bee” for the Red Hats in Framingham, MA and at 80 years old had a tattoo of a bee put on her arm which she was so very proud of. She had won many trophies for dancing, golf and for being the best Salesperson at Sam’s Club. It has been said that she could sell an ice refrigerator to an Eskimo.
She enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, watching game shows and Dancing with the Stars on TV, bowling, bocce, ballroom dancing, crafts and golf. She loved animals and had many pets including dogs, cats, birds and fish. She always fed the many squirrels and birds that visited her yard. She had an incredible green thumb and was always surrounded by plants.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hanover Hill Healthcare Center and the VNA Hospice team for their compassionate care of Ellie in her final days.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 2 – 4 p.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester, NH. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, it has been suggested that those who wish may purchase in memory of Ellie, a Memorial Tree to be planted in forests in need. (obits.phaneuf.net/eleanore-mustone)
