Ellen J. Beland, 89, of Manchester, NH passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026 at Hanover Hill Health Care Center, in Manchester, NH.

Mrs. Beland was born on February 12, 1937, in Portsmouth, NH, the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Dixon) Lovely. She was raised in Northwood, NH and spent most of her life living in Manchester, NH.

Ellen was 1 of 17 children and she never let anyone forget it.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Beland was employed by Jewell Industries where she worked as a calibrator.

She enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the Boston Bruins. She also enjoyed watching wheel of fortune and always knew how to solve the puzzle.

Ellen was full of spice and she kept everyone on their toes. She had nick names for people she interacted with daily and many referred to her as her nickname - “Lovely”

Members of her family include; her son, Richard J. Beland, of Manchester, NH; two daughters, Diane J. Worsley and her husband, Michael of Manchester, NH; Lisa A. Beland, also of Manchester, NH; five grandchildren Dominique, Cassie and her husband, Nick, Shaquille, Kayla and Samantha. Ellen was also a great grandmother to three great grandchildren, Gabriel, Haven and Hazel. She is survived by a sister, Mary Hathaway, of Hooksett, NH; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ellen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leo Beland.

SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 4 – 5 p.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester, NH. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home at 5 p.m.
