Ellen (Kinsman) Forrett, 79, of Vernon, VT, died Monday, March 21, 2016 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Montague Center, Mass., on September 2, 1936; the daughter of the late Ernest G. and Dorothy (Brissette) Kinsman.

Ellen was educated in Greenfield, MA. She attended the Four Corners School and graduated from Greenfield High School, Class of 1955. On July 13, 1957, she married Franklin R. Forrett. Ellen was employed as a legal secretary for Richard Gale, Sr. for many years; and as an Administrative Assistant at The Book Press/Quebecor Printing until her retirement after 25 years of employment. Ellen enjoyed reading, gardening, golfing, camping, and her winters spent at the Blue Parrott Campground in Lady Lake, FL.

Ellen leaves a daughter, Lisa J. Forrett of Vernon; two sons, Timothy G. Forrett of Vernon and Darren K. Forrett of Brattleboro; two brothers, Ernest D. Kinsman of Chesterfield, NH, and Elton P. Kinsman and his wife Alice of Vernon; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful canine companion, "Honey Bee."

In addition to her husband who died in 1999, she was predeceased by two sisters, Joy K. Aquadro and Marilyn K. Tobey.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 5 PM to 8 PM at KER-WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME, 57 High Street, Brattleboro. A Graveside Service will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at Tyler Cemetery in Vernon. For those who wish, memorial contributions in Ellen's memory may be made to the Windham County Humane Society, 916 West River Road, Brattleboro, VT 05301.
