Ellen Mailhot (Rand), 69, of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 28, 1956, in Camden, New Jersey, Ellen was the cherished daughter of Freeman and Ellen (Banks) Rand. She grew up in a close-knit family and was one of six children, sharing many wonderful memories with her siblings. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Richard Mailhot, and her late father, mother, and brothers; Freeman Jr., Arther, and Mark Rand; while her sister, Eleanor Rand, continues to honor her memory.
Ellen’s life was one filled with warmth, laughter, and steadfast love. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Frank, Charlie, Linda and a proud grandmother to six grandchildren; Violet, Kaylee, Lilly, Emily, Olivia, and Alex; whom she adored beyond measure. Family meant everything to Ellen, and her home was always a place of comfort, good food, and joyful gatherings.
Those who knew Ellen will remember her bright spirit and enthusiasm for life. She found happiness in simple pleasures; cooking for loved ones, singing karaoke, and dancing whenever the opportunity arose. Ellen was also an accomplished Texas Hold ’Em player, competing with friends and in tournaments, where she earned numerous well-deserved victories. A dedicated member of the Alpine Club and Sweeney Post in Manchester, she valued the friendships and sense of community she built there.
Services to honor Ellen’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Calvary Mausoleum in Manchester, NH. Friends and family are invited to gather in celebration of a life so well lived and the love she so freely gave.
