Emeli Vasil

Emeli Vasil, 105, of Manchester died Monday October 1, 2012 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester following a brief illness.

She was born on February 20, 1907 in Korce, Albania the daughter of the late Denis and Penelope (Kosti) Dhishna. She came to the US in the early 1930's and has been a resident of Manchester since that time.

Emeli worked as a clerk at Merrimack Fruit for many years which she co-owned with her husband Arthur. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and being a seamstress.

She is survived by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Vasil and all of her siblings.

Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Wednesday at 4:00PM to 7:00PM with the Trisagion Service at 6:00PM. Her Funeral Service on Thursday at 11:00AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 650 Hanover St, Manchester. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester.
