Emile E. Thomas, 79, of Manchester, died January 28, 2002 at Catholic Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Manchester on January 12, 1923, the son of George and Salime ''Sally'' Thomas and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He was WWII Marine Corps Veteran, having served from 1942 to 1946. He was employed by Ferretti's Supermarket for over thirty years. He later owned Maple Heights market for ten years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Cathedral. Family members include his wife of 51 years, Claire (Desfosses) Thomas; three sons, Bruce Thomas and Kevin Thomas, both of Manchester and Brian Thomas of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren; two brothers, Felix Thomas of Lady Lake, FL and Dino Thomas of Manchester; a sister, Helen Fenner of Manchester; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. After cremation, a memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 10:00 in St. Joseph Cathedral. Urn burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
