Emmanuel Jeremie Mathews, beloved son and brother, passed away suddenly on March 28, 2023, in Manchester, NH. He was 29 years old.
Emmanuel was born on May 31, 1993, in Matadi, Congo, to Nlandu Mathews and Nzuzi (Maketo) Payne. He spent his early years in Congo before moving to Manchester, NH, with his family in 2002. Emmanuel attended Central High School in Manchester and worked various jobs throughout his life.
Emmanuel enjoyed football, camping, cooking, fishing, and being outdoors. He also had a passion for building things. Emmanuel's sudden passing has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, his generous spirit, and his kind heart. May he rest in peace.
Emmanuel is survived by his mother, Nzuzi Payne, and stepfather Kevin Payne; his brother, Rolly Nsiona; his sister, Keisha Payne; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Nlandu Mathews.
A visitation for Emmanuel will be held on Saturday, April 8, from 9-10am at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH. A funeral service will follow at 10am, and burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester, NH.
