Ernest C. Groulx, 71, of Manchester died peacefully at home on January 5, 2006 with family by his side. Mr. Groulx was born on February 27, 1934 in Goffstown the son of Rene and Cecile (Clang) Groulx. In March of 2005, he retired from the City of Manchester after 25 years. He also spent many enjoyable years driving the zamboni at West Side and JFK ice arenas. Family members include; his wife of 50 years, Lucille (Chouinard) Groulx; two sons, Ernest Groulx of Manchester and Edward Groulx of Hooksett; four daughters, Elaine Lieberman of Greenville, Elise Robinson of Manchester, Eva Lapeer of Manchester and Emily Silkman of Hooksett; 20 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; three brothers, Maurice Groulx of Manchester, Andy Groulx of Germany and Amie Groulx of Manchester; three sisters, Theresa St. Cyr of Manchester, Eyonne Bossi of Contoocook and Irene Spoor of Bow; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday evening from 5:30 until 8:00 at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street. A Funeral Service will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
