Ernest R. Thomas, 72 of Brattleboro, VT passed away at his residence on Saturday, May 13, 2017. He was born in Brattleboro, VT on June 5, 1944; the son of the late Richard and Beatrice Thomas.
Ernie was lifelong Brattleboro resident. He was educated in the local school system, graduating from Brattleboro High School, Class of 1962. Ernie served his country in the U.S. Army. He was self-employed as an Auto Body Mechanic. Ernie enjoyed rebuilding and restoring classic cars, and loved Hampton Beach, where he would vacation every summer.
He is survived by two daughters, Erin Crespo and her husband Richard of Brattleboro and Lynn McLaughlin of Underhill, VT; a sister, Dorothy Longueil of Brattleboro; several grandchildren; two nephews, Marc Longueil and his wife Marilyn of Keene, NH and Randy Longueil of FL; and a niece, Darcy Lovering of VT.
There are no calling hours. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Hinesburg Cemetery, Hinesburg Rd., Guilford, VT. The KER-WESTERLUND FUNERAL, 57 High St., Brattleboro, VT is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hinesburg Cemetery Association, c/o Cathy Hunt, 1799 Carpenter Hill Rd., Guilford, VT 05301.
