Ernest W. Viens, Sr., 86, of 753 Rimmon Street died March 25, 2000 at Ridgewood Center in Bedford. He was born in Pittsfield on October 21, 1913, the son of Lewis and Clara (Forcier) Viens had had been a Manchester resident for over 60 years. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was a member of the VFW. He has worked for many years as an Iron Worker. He was predeceased by two daughters, Rita Blanchette and Yvonne Viens. Family members include his wife of 63 years, Lena (Laschowsky) Viens; a son, Ernest W. Viens, Jr., of Manchester; four daughters, Elaine Bond of Weare, Claire Proulx of Manchester, Kathleen Willey of WA and Diana Laverture of Concord; 19 grandhcildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; a brother, Pete Viens of FL; a sister, Albertine St. Louis of MA; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Tuesday morning from 9 to 11 AM. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home at 11:00.
