Ernestine H. King

Ernestine H. King, 86, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024 at Concord Hospital. Born in Manchester on July 30, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Helen Woodin. She was married to the late John H. King Sr.

Ernestine lived a good life. She was a school crossing guard for 20 years. She received recognition as a volunteer of 15 years with the Foster Grandparent program. She lived in the same neighborhood for over 50 years and was fondly known by all her neighbors as Grammy or Ernie.

Ernestine is survived by her four children including her son, John H. King Jr. and his wife Kerry of Bow, NH, her daughter Karen L. Lawrence and her husband Gary of Manchester, her son Raymond King and his partner Janet Trudel of Manchester, and her son Samuel W. King and his wife Gloria of Orlando, FL; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Ernest W. Woodin Jr. and Leland Woodin; and her grandson, Gary J. Lawrence Jr.

A Memorial Gathering will take place on Thursday, March 21 from 5PM-7PM with a Memorial Service at 7PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester, NH. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald Street, Bedford, NH on Friday, March 22 at 9AM.
