Estelle McCullough

Estelle (Labonte) McCullough, 86, of Manchester, gently passed on August 6, 2018, after a brief stay at Hannah Dustin Healthcare Center, in Haverhill, MA. She was born on April 13, 1932, in Manchester, NH. She was the wife of the late Leo B. McCullough and daughter of Lucien and Orise (Halde) Labonte.

Estelle was proud of her home town and French heritage and spoke often of her childhood on Alfred Street. She attended Villa Augustina in Goffstown where she learned French. She graduated from St. George High School Class of 1950 and helped to arrange class reunions.

Estelle worked in the payroll department at the New England Telephone Company. She moved to Haverhill, MA, married and raised her family. She was a devoted Catholic and belonged to Catholic Daughters of America. She worked as a tax examiner for the IRS and retired from Lucent Technologies, N. Andover, MA. She returned to Manchester and rekindled a love with her high school sweetheart, Leo, with whom she spent over 24 years.

All who knew Estelle enjoyed her baking. She loved to cook for family and friends. Knitting was a labor of love for her, especially baby sweaters, and she was proud of the many rugs she hand braided. Her passion later moved to genealogy and she and Leo traveled often to collect information. Being a master at the art of conversation endowed her with so many friends, far and near; but Estelle truly shined when caring for her loved ones.

She will be sadly missed by son, Mark Cagnetta, his wife Kathy, of Wittmann, AZ, two daughters, Michele Cagnetta, of Phoenix, AZ, and Patrice McColley, her husband John, of Haverhill, MA, stepson, John McCullough, his wife Joan, of Bedford, NH, grandchildren, Meredith Cibelli, her husband Ryan, Gianna and Brent McColley, two great-granddaughters, a step-grandson , and several nieces and nephews.

Estelle was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Darlene Cagnetta, grandson, Michael Cagnetta, sister, Claire Morrissette and brothers, Maurice and Paul Labonte.
