Esther (Mourtgos) Cloutier , 86, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2007, at Catholic Medical Center after a brief period of declining health. She was born in Manchester, on February 4, 1921, the daughter of John A. and Evanthia (Veziris) Mourtgos and had been a lifelong resident of the city. She attended Central High School and worked at various shoe companies, Treismans and Lady Grace. Formally her fathers store, she also owned and operated Johns Variety in Bedford. Until recently, she enjoyed physical fitness of all types and walked 3 to 6 miles daily for over 40 years. She was a hard worker and a very devoted wife and mother. She leaves her husband of almost 60 years, Kenneth J. Cloutier of Manchester, a daughter, Mrs. Peter (Cynthia) Pappas of Bedford and several nephews and a niece. In Her Life- She was predeceased by a sister Mary Mourtgos and a brother Tom Mourtgos both in 1998 and recently a brother Arthur Mourtgos in 2006 Calling hours are on Tuesday, from 4-7 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street in Manchester .Funeral services will be on Wednesday morning in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM.
