Eva M. Descoteaux, 94, formerly of 471 Central Street, died November 16, 2000, at Mount Carmel Nursing Home. She was born in Canada on October 12, 1906, the daughter of Arthur and Marie Anne (Brochu) Chicoine and had been a resident of Manchester for all of her life. Eva was a parishioner of St. Augustin Church, was a member of the Association Canado-Americaine, a founding member of the Federal Franco-Americaine and long time secretary for ACA and the Villa Marie Antoinette # 2 of ACA. She was with L'Alliance Francaise and was named Franco Americaine Women of the Year. She was the widow of Antonio Descoteaux who died in 1974. Family members include three sons, Arthur Descoteaux of Manchester, Robert Descoteaux of Dover and George Descoteaux of Revere, Ma., three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Bullard, Miss Doris Descoteaux, both of Manchester and Miss Rita Descoteaux of Conway, nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a sister, Miss Evelyn Chicoine of Manchester, several nieces and nephews. SERVICES: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Augustin Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
