LITTLETON, NH -- On the bright and beautiful Indian summer morning of September 29, 2014, Evelyn Marie Daine left her earthly body and ascended to the gates of heaven where she will now resides for eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Evelyn fought a short but, courageous battle with cancer; never complaining and always strong in her faith.
She was born on February 23, 1951, first daughter of Arnold Archie Daine and Miriam Eleanor (Sturgis) Daine in Littleton New Hampshire. Evelyn attended school in Littleton, graduating from Littleton High School in 1970. She attended New England School of Art & Design in Boston.
Except for a few adventures that took her to the British Isles, New York City and Boston, she lived out her life on the Monroe Road in Littleton. She loved her flower gardens and anyone passing by her home in the springtime could enjoy the fruits of her labor with the thousands, upon thousands of daffodils that bloomed there.
Evelyn was an accomplished artist who had her own unique style and painted in many different mediums. Over the years, her art work has won many, many blue ribbons at the local fairs and she proudly exhibited her work anywhere she was invited.
Evelyn never married, she said that artists could be quite self-centered and she would rather put her energies into her art. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews who fondly called her "Auntie Ev". Evelyn loved her family and friends with her whole heart, always stepping up to the plate when she was needed.
Evelyn was preceded by both parents. She leaves behind two brothers, and three sisters: David and Timothy Daine, Judith Foster, Patricia Smith and Nancy Champagne.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Littleton Garden Club in care of Dorothea Ruggles, 91 Morrison Hill Drive, Littleton, NH 03598.
SERVICES --A celebration of her life will be held on October 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Lyman Bible Church, Parker Hill Rd, Lyman, NH with Michael Gilman officiating. All who knew and loved Evelyn as we did are welcome to join the family after the service at the Lyman Town Hall, also on Parker Hill Rd, directly after the service to share memories and stories.
