Evelyn M. Matson

Evelyn M. Matson, 94, of Madbury, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2022 at Birch Healthcare Center. She was born in Manchester, NH on May 9, 1928 to Frank and Lilly (Pickles) Seitz. She was a graduate of Manchester West High School. She owned and operated Evelyn’s Hairstyling in Hooksett for years, followed by brief stints in sales, retail management, and office administration/bookkeeping.

Evelyn was a smart woman with a heart of gold, always putting others’ needs ahead of her own. She volunteered in PTA, Girl Scouts, tax preparation for the elderly and disadvantaged, etc. In her leisure time she enjoyed time with family, gardening, sewing, quilting, and doing things for others.

Members of her family include one son, Bill Matson and his girlfriend, Linda of Las Vegas; two daughters, Donna Matson of Vermont and Patty Bastianelli and her husband Steve of Madbury; grandchildren, Corey and Cody Bastianelli of Madbury; Travis Matson and his wife, Jenn of Hinsdale; Damon and Tara Wilson of Vermont; step grandchildren Mike Bastianelli and his wife Val of Maine; Melanie Bastianelli of Maine; two great grandchildren Dylan and Treavor Matson of Hinsdale; sister-in-law Beverly Gray of NJ; also numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Raymond Matson; brother Bob Seitz; and sisters Ethel Blichmann and Dorothy Lazott.

SERVICES: It was Evelyn’s wishes that her service be private for the immediate family.
