F. Lucile Mitchell, 96, of Hinsdale, NH passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Thompson House Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brattleboro. She was born in Randolph, VT on July 29, 1919, the daughter of the late Herbert L. and Flora J. (Willard) Harrington.

Lucile was educated in the Sharon, VT school system, graduating from Sharon High School. She married her husband, Richard on May 23, 1943. They relocated to Hinsdale, were they have been residence since 1949. Lucile then went on to earn her Associates Degree from Bay Path Institute. She was employed as a Secretary for the Holstein Association for over forty years until her retirement in 1981. Lucile enjoyed knitting, cooking, going for walks, yard work, doing crossword puzzles, and traveling, especially cruises. She was a lifetime member of the Brattleboro and the Hinsdale Historical Societies and a member of the Community Bible Chapel in Brattleboro. Lucile especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband, Richard "Dick" M. Mitchell in 1990; a brother, Leslie Harrington; and two sisters, Hazel Harrington Ellis and Ruth Harrington Tracy.

She is survived by a son, Gary Mitchell and his wife Doris of Cape Coral, FL; two grandchildren, Lisa Mitchell Ryan and her husband Patrick of Kathleen, GA and Jerrod Mitchell and his wife Meridith of Holderness, NH; and three great grandchildren, Christopher Ryan and Lani and Georgia Mitchell.

An hour of visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at KER-WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME, 57 High St., Brattleboro. A Funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Hinsdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rescue, Inc. 541 Canal St, Brattleboro, VT 05301.
