FERNAND D. MORIN Fernand Soupy D. Morin, 81, of Manchester, NH, died August 28, 2006 at Elliot Hospital, in Manchester. Mr. Morin was born on July 5, 1925, in Manchester, NH, the son of the late Delphis and Alphonsine (Cormier) Morin. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester. Mr. Morin was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. Prior to his retirement in 1981, Mr. Morin was employed as a police officer for the Manchester Police Department, having worked there for over 25 years. Mr. Morin was an avid skier, golfer, and hunter. For a short time, he also did some prospecting in Alaska. During his college years, he enjoyed playing soccer. Mr. Morin was the original member of the Police Department Underwater Recovery Team Members of his family include; his wife of 58 years; Dorothy M. (Cooper) Morin of Manchester; 5 sons, Richard A. Morin, of Dunbarton; Daniel K. Morin, Steven P. Morin, Lee W. Morin, and Thomas J. Morin, all of Manchester; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Robert Morin, of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. Memorial calling hours will be Thursday, August 31, from 6 8 P.M. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home at 8 PM. The Reverend Douglas Rickard, minister of First Presbyterian Church, will officiate the service It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society, 360 Route 101, Unit 501, Bedford, NH 03110, in memory of Mr. Morin.
