Fernando Ornelas, 60, of Dover, passed away on August 29, 2019. He was born on February 18, 1959 in Canico, Madeira Portugal to the late Jose and Fernanda (Freitas) Ornelas. In 1968 the family moved to the United States, Manchester, NH.
He graduated from Manchester High School in 1977 and received a baseball scholarship to University of Tennessee. Prior to retirement, Fernando worked at the seafood counter at Shaws.
Fernando had a passion for sports, baseball, basketball and golf all of his life. He was member of the Derryfield Country Club. He was a lover of music and collector of Beatles memorabilia.
He is survived by his twin sister Anna Silva of Dunbarton; brother John Ornelas of Manchester; sister-in-law Brenda Ciechon; niece Cassandra Silva of Manchester, and Samantha Ornelas of Manchester; great-nephews Demitri Gordon of Manchester; Lewis Rivera of Manchester and Jake Ornelas of Manchester;
As well as an aunt and several cousins and friends.
SERVICES: A gathering will be held from 4-7 pm on Friday at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, located at 243 Hanover St. Manchester. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home at 7 pm.
