Florence F. Boisse

Florence F. (Farris) Boisse, 93, of Manchester, passed away on August 29, 2022, at Mount Carmel Nursing Home.

She was born in Beckley, WV on May 29, 1929, the daughter of the late Gus and Jamile (Salem) Farris. Florence grew up in southern West Virginia and graduated from Ohio Dominican University. After working as a medical technologist, she married and moved to Manchester where she lived for over 70 years. Family was the most important thing to Florence and she spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was one of the founding parishioners and a very active member of St. Catherine Church. She was a member of the Manchester Garden Club and was an avid tennis player for over 40 years. She was a longtime skeet shooter and was a former NH Women’s Skeet Shooting champion. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Roger R. Boisse, by two young sons, Ronald R. Boisse and Randall E. Boisse, and by five brothers and four sisters.

Family members include her son, Roger F. Boisse and his wife Kathleen of Auburn; her daughter, Michele Boisse of Alexandria, VA; three grandchildren, LTJG Douglas Boisse, LTJG Evan Boisse and Joseph Boisse; and nephews and nieces.

Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., on Thursday, September 1st from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 2nd at 9:00 AM, at St Catherine of Sienna Parish. Burial will follow in Mt.
