Florence H. Thomas

Florence H. Thomas, age 95, beloved wife of the late Andrew Thomas, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2013 at Grace Cottage Hospital, Townshend, VT. A lifelong resident of Norwalk, CT before moving to West River Valley Assisted Living in Townshend, VT last year, she was the daughter of the late Roland D. Waters and Hilma (Jacobsen) Waters.

After graduating from Norwalk High School in 1935, she worked for many years as a stenographer and secretary at J. & J. Cash, Inc., a manufacturer of woven labels in South Norwalk. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends in New England and to Bermuda, California and Hawaii.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Nancy T. Glass and her husband, Burt, of Fairfield, CT; her son, Richard W. Thomas and his wife, Janet, of Townshend, VT; her granddaughter, Christine Zonghetti and her husband, Steven, of Tolland, CT and her 5 great-grandchildren.

A Private Graveside Service was held at Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk, CT with Pastor Gregory Saunders of Community Baptist Church officiating. Ker-Westerlund Funeral Home, 57 High St., Brattelboro, VT has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Cottage Foundation, P.O.
