Floyd ''Skip'' Cookson, 51, of 374 North Stark Highway, Weare, NH died at home from injuries sustain from an accident on December 30, 2000. He was Born in Bangor, ME on September 8, 1949 and resided many years in Lewiston, ME. He also lived in VT and Manchester, NH before moving to Weare eight years ago. He had been employed at Chemfab St. Gobin in Merrimack, NH for the past several years. He also worked at the New Hampshire International Speedway. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family. Family members include his wife of 21 years, Debra (Veilleux) Cookson, his mother and stepfather, Margaret (Baker) and Joseph Slavis of Hoosick Falls, NY; his father, Benjamin Cookson of ME; his maternal grandmother, Esther (Bump) Rogers of Bennington, VT; a daughter, Shellie Cookson-Harrington of Arlington, VT; three sons, Anthony Cookson of Great Mills, MD, Shawn Goughnour of Dover, NH and Chad Cookson of Weare, NH; five grandchildren; two half sisters, Jackie Colpitt of Readfield, ME and Sandy Goldrup of Monmouth, ME; and several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. SERVICES: Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 243 Hanover St. Manchester, NH on Thursday from 3 to 6 PM. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday evening at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, 132 Middle Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
