Fotios “Frank” A. Papanicolau, 91, of Manchester, NH died peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Manchester, NH.

Mr. Papanicolau was born on August 6, 1935, in Chrysavgi, Tsotili, Kozani, Greece, the son of the late Andreas and Emorfia (Tsiaras) Papanicolau. Prior to emigrating to the United States, he served in the Greek Army as a Lieutenant and graduated with a degree in Forestry. In 1961, he began working in the shoe factories in Manchester, NH. He soon earned his Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering and began his lifelong career as an engineer for Sanders, Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems.

Members of his family include; his wife of 67 years, Athanasia F. (Simopoulos) Papanicolau, of Manchester, NH; a son, Andrew Papanicolau, of Manchester, NH; a daughter, Emorfia “Amy” Valkanos, also of Manchester, NH; 5 grandchildren, Rea and husband, Brendan Sullivan, Thalia and Athena Valkanos, Fotios and Nikos Papanicolau; 3 great grandchildren, Harrison, Margaret, and Brigit Sullivan, one brother Christos Papanicolau, of Chrysavgi, Tsotili, Kozani, Greece, and several nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 9 – 10 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 650 Hanover Street, in Manchester, NH. A funeral service will follow in the church at 10 a.m. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, in Manchester, NH.
